Ska label Stubborn Records has launched a special “Upsetter Fire Rescue Squad” t shirt and embroidered patch to fund raise for legendary reggae producer Lee “Scratch” Perry. In December of 2015, Perry’s home studio was destroyed by a fire after leaving a candle unattended.
“My whole secret laboratory burned out,” he posted on Facebook after the fire, “Everything gone!!!!”
Perry is widely known as an innovative producer and a pioneer in the development of dub music. He has influenced many performers from diverse genres including the Clash, Paul McCartney, and the Beastie Boys.
100% of the profits will go to directly to Scratch. Both the t shirt and patch are available now at the Stubborn Records online shop.
